|
|
Ok, somehow my File View menu is missing from Konqueror.. I've been scouring the settings for days and right clicking wherever I could to try and get it back.. but it just doesn't exist anymore... I can't access my bookmarks etc.
Is there any way to restore konqueror to it's total default state??
Thanks, josh. _________________ Open your mind. Open your source.

You could try adding: Code: | [KonqMainWindow]
MenuBar=Enabled |
to ~.kde/share/config/konquerorrc. _________________ After Perl everything else is just assembly language. |

I just discovered that you can put a "menubar" button on Konq's main toolbar. Not only will you never lose your menubar again, it is a great space saver. It goes welll with the System++ windows decor. _________________ After Perl everything else is just assembly language. |

A nice thing is that in KDE-cvs, you can make the menubar of any KDE application a kicker applet. Much more mac-like
Try also pressing control-M--- hides/shows menubar by default I beleive. |

Ahh, that must have been how I got rid of it in the first place...
though personally I think they should have a menu option to turn it back on in case some clueless people like me disable it

They do! See my post above. It is an option for the main menu bar. _________________ After Perl everything else is just assembly language. |

I meant a GUI option for the non-l33t among us

I've got a button on Konq's main toolbar that hides/shows the menu bar. It seems to me that this is about as gui as it gets but maybe I still don't understand what it is that you want. _________________ After Perl everything else is just assembly language. |

You need to add the button manually. Go to settings -> Config Toolbars and then on the main toolbar move the "Menu bar" icon from the left column to the right.
PS: I also added the icons for the few tasks that I regularly do from the menu bar. For me this was bookmarks and "send link". Your favs my differ.
The only thing I want that does not seem to happen is that I have not found a way for the menu bar to be hidden by default. New konq windows always open up with the menu bar on. _________________ After Perl everything else is just assembly language. |

Have you tried hitting ctrl m then closing konqueror?
When I do that and close then open konqueror again it opens without the menubar.. _________________ Open your mind. Open your source.
