Oh my, was it that simple? I feel so stupid.
I replaced DMESG_LOGLEVEL to DMESG_LEVEL in /etc/conf.d/rc and it worked, many thanks man!. |

I've finally replaced RC_DMESG_LEVEL to RC_DMESG_LOGLEVEL in /sbin/rc and left /etc/conf.d/rc as it was originally, just to avoid that problematic line in the future.
