Hi,
I have a very big matter! When trying to burning DVDs with my Plextor 716a I got a lot of problems.
First when using K3b I can select only growisofs as writing application also if cdrtools are installed.
Second when trying to burn a DVD image at 6x on DVD-R (the drive and the media support this speed, I burned a lot of them with my 716 at 6x without any problem) in DAO mode the process fails:

growisofs command:

same with other speed: 4x, 8x, 12x and 16x;
When writng in incremental mode at 6x speed the resulting sleceted speed is 12x!
With gnome baker first failed at 6x with input output error, then I tried at 8x ad the selected speed was 16x!
Third I have great problem when erasing DVD-RW. The first time I have to delete them as if they were CD-RW, then I can delete them with K3b or gnome baker.
If thrying to delete them with k3b I get this error:

but the drive do not start to write! And the procedure fails in 2 seconds! But k3b and gnomebaker say that the procedure has succes.

I should add that some times before the burning programs seems to do everything right!

Well, that seems to solve not my problem! I would like to use cdrecord via guy by k3b or other programs.
Any other suggestions? |

| Well, I noticed various problems burning DVD-s recently. After all I solved my issues, when I stopped using RAM-disk for /tmp folder. Maybe it's not your problem,but who knows... |
