|
|
Hi, there,
After gcc upgrade to 4.1.1 I've been having a problem with comix. It
complains it needs PyGTK 2.8 or greater to work properly.
However, I have PyGTK 2.8.6 installed.
I have tried reemerging comix a couple of times, even reemerge PyGTK
before reemerging comix and still comix keeps complaining.
Anybody has any clues?
Thanks! _________________ A mind that is stretched by a new experience can never go back to its old dimensions. - Oliver Wendell Holmes

It seems as if Python can't find the PyGTK modules. Try running:

Please fire up a python interpreter (simply `python`at a command prompt) and enter the following, one line at a time:
Code: |
import pygtk
pygtk.require("2.0")
import gtk
|
See if you get an error message from any of the lines. _________________ Comix - GTK Comic Book Viewer [ http://comix.sourceforge.net ] |

It looks like cairo is making me some trouble:

I'll try reemerging cairo and pycairo. _________________ A mind that is stretched by a new experience can never go back to its old dimensions. - Oliver Wendell Holmes

Have you tried revdep-rebuild? If that does not help, re-emerging gtk+ might be worth a shot. _________________ Comix - GTK Comic Book Viewer [ http://comix.sourceforge.net ] |

revdep-rebuild only tries to reemerge azureus-bin, and I did a emerge gtk+ pygtk cairo pycairo comix, but the problem is struggling to survive. Mf... _________________ A mind that is stretched by a new experience can never go back to its old dimensions. - Oliver Wendell Holmes |

I've found some clues here. And it did the trick. Now I can read my comics again. _________________ A mind that is stretched by a new experience can never go back to its old dimensions. - Oliver Wendell Holmes |
