I use this to check link status on my network cards. But I can't seem to find out which portage pack it's in. The reason I know that it's in portage somewhere is that on one of my gentoo computers it's installed...!
Any way to check where a binary comes from (check which portage pack installed it) or someway to search the files in alle the packages in the portage tree.
Hope someone can help! _________________ Best regards

First, emerge gentoolkit, then use a qpkg -f <filename> to find out what package the file belongs to.
Good luck,

Thanks for the help, I found the tool in the net-tools package!
qpgk -f /sbin/net-tools worked like a charme!
Now we only need some way to search before you install...
citron - it's there... really...! _________________ Best regards
