Compiz not responding to clicks

I sucessfully installed XGL/Compiz on Gnome and it worked perfectly yesterday. But since I've changed the GUI to "clearlooks" Compiz doen't respond to leftclicks anymore. I can enter the context-menus with a rightclick, but all buttons, menus and icons don't work. Which are the appropriate packages to re-emerge? Or is there another possibility to get it work?

I've installed the mirage-engine http://www.gnome-look.org/content/show.php?content=43793) to try it out, but it didn't work. Hence I've uninstalled it using "make uninstall". Has this something to do with the broken GUI?
