Since a while my X server crashes without any warning about once or twice a day. /var/log/X.org.0.log does not show anything. Is there any other place where I might look for useful information on the crash, and/or do you have pointers on possible solutions?

Believe it or not, my system has no xorg.conf (also to my own big surprise).
If it helps determining more or less what I have in my machine wrt X I could post the xorg.conf from a fedora install on the same machine.
I have set up X from an ebuild source, followed by kde. I don' t use Gnome, if that makes any difference in casu.

My emerge --info:

Follow the X Server Configuration HOWTO to see if creating an xorg.conf will help solve the problem.
