Im an administrator of a linux server with a lot of users. But Im a little bit warry about a process losing control. For instance, if firefox suddenly use 100 procent cpu usage, no body else on the system is able to use it, which is vary bad. I have seen firefox do that a couple of times now. So what I want is some kind of process surveillance, so if a process own by user xx are using more then 80 procent cpu usage for more then 30 sec, then the process should be killed. Is they a program/kernel patch that make this possible or is they an other way to fix that problem?
Regards
Kristoffer

Take a look at psmon - it's available in Portage. _________________ Yes, I'm the man. Now it's your turn to decide if I meant "Yes, I'm the male." or "Yes, I am the Unix Manual Page.". |
