Sounds like a quest! Find the key and unlock the door at the top of the staircase.

Or, you could post your error, either way. ;)

Go to /etc/sysctl.conf and remove the emission-tunables added entries.

When I hit <F2> during boot or shutdown for verbose messages, the key is ignored, and the splash image remains displayed.

I get the message "FATAL: module snd_emu10k not found" during boot.

I have emu10k built into my kernel and no modules at all. Sound works correctly.

Edit: corrected typos.

You will get this message on every gentoo machine with alsa modules build into kernel. I get this too if I don't use the alsa-driver ebuild.

same here, and I have also problems with suspend2, it says that the support is not compiled in the kernel, but It is, even the swap writer support.

What more do you need :)? Seriously, I look forward to reiser4 officially, more cleanups with iosched. For some reason, I've not have a good run with .17. Especially with apic. I had to disable it in my bios (not that that matters much). Kept turning off my eth0 port!

Last I looked there was still loads of hostile criticism towards Reiser4. We should really laud Arndrew Morton for taking this on.

Anyway, looking again, I'm seeing that great progress has been made, but http://kerneltrap.org/node/7153 has Morton saying Reiser4 won't make it to .19, it will probably be .20. Apart from that, it's great news, and it will be interesting to see how the devs that have resisted this for so long will react now that they will have to officially support this. :twisted:

And I have just ended my reiser4 venture (after +/-2 years), small bugs here and there, and it needs too much attention. This weekend I am back to ext3 after years of reiserfs and reiser4. I had to rebuild the whole reiser4 fs again, did this like 100 times in 2 years of reiser4.

Maybe I can try ext4 ;)

Is there a way to solve it?

if i try with the driver provided by portage, i get the following error:
Code:

 * Found kernel source directory:
 *     /usr/src/linux
 * Found sources for kernel version:
 *     2.6.17-beyond4
 * Checking for suitable kernel configuration options...                                                              [ ok ]
 *
 * This version of hostap-driver is incompatible with linux-2.6.14 and above.
 * Please use the more recent in-kernel version of the hostap module when using
 * linux-2.6.14 or above.

Cheers

Iphitus... I check http://iphitus.loudas.com/beyond.php several times a week and beyond4 was never there. Is http://iphitus.loudas.com/ the best place to check for new beyond announcements?

I frequently find it impossible to kill -9 processes with beyond4.

I'm using 2.6.17-beyond3 since several month now without any kind of problem 8) and I would have try the beyond4 but it's impossible to find an ebuild for it.

From http://iphitus.loudas.com//12.html I get since one week a link that doesn't respond to download from https://svn.breakmygentoo.org/bmg-main/sys-kernel/beyond-sources/beyond-sources-2.6.17.40.ebuild.

I suspect a problem with the https server and no http server is responding at this adresse.

:!: So it's impossible now to download it :(

:?: Is anyone have it and could send me it or post it or host it ?
