What have folks used to do serial to ip proxying?
This is a program, probably a daemon, that sits between an application that expects to be talking to a /dev/ttySxx but is really talking to, say, a lantronix terminal server over an ip network.
Examples include remserial, serproxy, and comserv. Undoubtedly others.
All of the above are venerable entries (meaning they haven't been updated in a while, not necessarily a bad thing).
Also none have ebuilds, which implies to me that no one in the elite gentoo community are using them. So obviously there must be something better that the elite are using!
My question is: what is that daemon(s) that the elite gurus use to do this?
Thanks in advance! _________________ Anyone who puts a small gloss on a fundamental technology, calls it proprietary, and then tries to keep others from building on it, is a thief.
