i have several 2 computers both under gentoo both with a ralink wireless card
one is a pci card for a desktop computer
one is a pc-card one for a notebook
my router is a wrt54GS
both use wifi-radar under kde
the problem is that sometimes the desktop computer doesn't want to get an ip with dhcp:
wifi radar says ":could not get ip adress"
what should i do in order to get it work corectly

new_to_non_X86,

my guess is that it is not dhcps fault; i went through a huge ordeal with this on an ibm r51.

here is the thread, in case youre interested. maybe try upgrading your kernel if youre using kernel drivers; otherwise upgrade the packages youre using to run the card.
also, can we see dmesg after a failure?

Hi, I'm having the same problem also with a ralink card in my desktop. Here's my dmesg output after i try running dhcpd:
Code:

cc:be:f2:05:b7:67:f9:da:9b:e2:9e:4f:07:00:00:00:
cc:be:f2:05:b7:67:f9:da:9b:e2:9e:4f:07:00:00:00:
cc:be:f2:05:b7:67:f9:da:9b:e2:9e:4f:07:00:00:00:
RT61: RfIcType= 3

Thought i had it running this morning before work but it's entirely possibly it was connected to the net via the ethernet cable plugged into it at the time. :?

Cheers
