Well, did this to fix this error from punkbuster, and i would like a few people to try this to make sure it really works, (i was playing for 30 mins on a server, didnt get kicked. so it worked for me)
Heres what i did. , you can run this all from user,
Code: | cd ~/.etwolf/pb
wget http://websec.evenbalance.com/downloads/linux/pbsetup.run
chmod +x pbsetup.run
./pbsetup.run
|
You will have to accpet a few things,
Now you got this little window , that has a few buttons , click add game, and add ET, for me it automaicly picked the right dir, "/home/<user>/.etwolf"
then once thats done, click "check for updates" to does a few things, and updates.
If anyone can try this, and what not, tell me if it works.. then this will help many people. |

User with one post asking people to download and install random software from the Internet.. Somehow I'm not comforted with that idea. |

Yes, i did something like that..
i did Code: | cd ~/.armyops230/System/pb
wget http://www.icculus.org/lgfaq/files/pbweb_fix.c
wget http://www.evenbalance.com/downloads/pbweb.x86
chmod +x pbweb.x86
gcc -shared -o pbweb_fix.so pbweb_fix.c -ldl
(gcc -shared -o pbweb_fix.so pbweb_fix.c -ldl -m32 if you're on AMD64)
LD_PRELOAD=./pbweb_fix.so ./pbweb.x86 |
from http://www.icculus.org/lgfaq/#pbweb_fix ,
but it didnt fix anything, (i ran it in both opt/et... and ~/.etwolf/...
and what i have in my first post, is the only one that fixed it |

Worked for me. thanks. _________________ Let me guess, you picked out yet another colorful box with a crank that I'm expected to turn and turn until OOP! big shock, a jack pops out and you laugh and the kids laugh and the dog laughs and I die a little inside. |

there is a pb directory in /opt/enemy-territory. if you chmod +x the pbweb in there, you can run it from there without having to wget another copy.
