After a recent discussion on reiserfs-ml i once again feel the need to warn users who
- have /usr/portage on a reiser4 partition
- and want to use a kernel patched with fcache.
These include 2.6.17-ck1 and those based on it (beyond etc), and any current -mm kernel.
In case of -ck/-beyond it's easy to reverse the fcache patch from 2.6.17-ck1's broken out (can be found on kernel.org in cons folder), in case of -mm it's a bit harder.. you will have to fix some rejects.
Fortunately Con dropped fcache from 2.6.18-ck1.
PS: i cannot swear it only affects gentoo's /usr/portage, as i have /usr completely on reiser4, i just think so. _________________ http://proaudio.tuxfamily.org/wiki - pro-audio software overlay
