Hi all,
I have a "small" problem with an SCSI Raid array, which is hosted on MegaRaid Elite 1600 Rev. 493 raid controller. It's currently set up in Raid5 with 3 SCSI drives buched up into one 140G legacy drive (3x 70g drives in total).
I'm using Gentoo with 2.6.22 kernel with megaraid drivers compiled into it. When the card is installed I get messages looking like this during bootup (dmesg):
Code: |
megaraid cmm: 2.20.2.7 (Release Date: Sun Jul 16 00:01:03 EST 2006)
megaraid: 2.20.5.1 (Release Date: Thu Nov 16 15:32:35 EST 2006)
megaraid: probe new device 0x101e:0x1960:0x101e:0x0493: bus 3:slot 0:func 0
megaraid: fw version:[h132] bios version:[3.07]
scsi2 : LSI Logic MegaRAID driver
scsi[2]: scanning scsi channel 0 [Phy 0] for non-raid devices
megaraid mbox: Wait for 0 commands to complete:300

My boot drive is also an SCSI drive on AIC controller (this works flawlessly)
My problem is, that I can't find the legacy 140G drive ANYWHERE in /dev , only finding /dev/sda which is the drive gentoo is on. Are there any special drivers I need to compile into the kernel, or are there any special utilities which enable the kernel to access the media? Is there any way in getting rid of the messages during the bootup (it's slows down the bott process a lot).
I have been looking all over the web, but couldn't find anything please halp ![Sad :(](images/smiles/icon_sad.gif) |
