My sever rebooted itself for no reason.
Server is about two years old never went down or giving me any problems during compiling or memory problems. Running on UPS (which is working OK).
But today for no reason it just reboot itself as I was typing an email; as if somebody pull the power cord.
Should I suspect power supply?
Are there any dual power supply, in case one fails / malfunction auxiliary takes over? |

It is entirly possible that it is just a random software problem that caused it to crash. If it keeps repeating then you should begin to look at possible problems like hardware failure. IMO If it came back up and is running fine now then I would chalk it up and just a random error.
If its no longer running we can work from there
EDIT: Any burning smells? |

I'll dust the system a bit, including power supply see if it helps.
There was no smell or anything, it just died as if you pull the power cord from the wall. It came back right away and it is running fine.
It is the first time it happened in two years (ever since was new).
The system is running in open case so it is not overheating. |
