timidity++ requires patchsets now?

Seems that the latest timidity++ requires a gentoo package for patches. Either eawpatches or some other one.

But I already have my own, non-gentoo patchset that I like. And when I try to mask the gentoo ebuilds then it just blocks timidity++.

What's the best way around this?

Copy the latest timidity++ Ebuild to your overlay (/usr/local/portage), then modify the line that starts with PDEPEND, run ebuild digest - done.
