I'm just looking at the wiki and was wondering which of these apps I should install first.

You don't need to install AIGLX, it is part of the XServer and on by default since 7.1. So assuming you have X working and your /var/log/Xorg.0.log shows that AIGLX is enabled, then you can just proceed to emerge beryl.
