I installed UT from a GOTY cd and it works great, but only partially.
Maps like LavaGiant and Dreary and some more work great but maps like Face, Hydro16, Orbital and more (I only checked CTF maps) cause the game to crash with this error:

I tried copying and unpacking the map from the cd, i had a friend send me over the map, and it didn't help.
Any ideas?

It just fails reading the file. Does it have the right permissions? Can the user you use to play UT actually read the file?

| Yes, i have made sure the permission for all the maps and textures is 644 (all ut files are owned by root). |

Do you play as root? If not, try and see if it has the same result...
