Hi,
I managed to flash my ATI AIW 8500 -> OOO
it doesnt show any sign of life now.
I saw newegg offers the 9600 AIW. I am also aware that there was a 9700 version , which should have had the R350 .
the 8500 I had , used R200 .
1. is the 9600 supported using the free modules?
2. is the 9700 better then the 9600 , and is it supported?
3. did anyone managed to actually use the GATOS for these in xorg 7?
Thanks,

I scrapped my AIW (after it blew up) for an Hauppague PVR (with hardware MPEG) and a not-AIW GPU and couldn't be happier... If you can afford the extra ~$80 for a separate TV card, that is the way to go IMHO. The IVTV drivers work sooooo well and I had nothing but trouble with GATOS which was perpetually preventing me from running the latst kernels... Ok, so this was years ago, but that's my two cents |
