I need a way to track access to my printer for networks users. I want to charge my friends per page for their printouts, to cover toner and wear on the device etc. I am sharing the printer with samba, and it would be easy enough to just write a script that will parse logs and find all the instances where somebody printed over their network, and provide IPs/users/etc. so I can keep track.
Is there an easier way to do this? if not, which log files? i am having trouble finding enough info in the cups log files... it seems samba messes this up a bit
thanks. |

Did you already take a look at PrintAnalyzer? _________________ Yes, I'm the man. Now it's your turn to decide if I meant "Yes, I'm the male." or "Yes, I am the Unix Manual Page.". |
