|

I suspect that I am having trouble configuring aRts or alsa with kde. My sound card si working fine with
Quote: | speaker-test
mpg321 -o alsa someFile.mp3
|
my problem is that when I do:
Quote: | mpg321 -o arts someFile.mp3
|
from a shell console, I get the error:
Quote: | MPEG 1.0 layer III, 64 kbit/s, 22050 Hz stereo
Can't find a suitable libao driver. (Is device in use?)
|
Any help would be appreciated. |

I am changing the subject in this thread, since the subject is not very relevant.
I can play files with artsplay, mpg321 and the test sound button at Control Center->Sound and Media -> Sound System.
My issue is that sound notifications do not work.
I have tried selecting /usr/kde/3.5/bin/artsplay as a selected player.
This is a new install, is there some package that should be installed to make notifications work? |
