Standard AMD XP 2600 machine, normal IDE CD-ROM plugged directly into mobo. I try to boot normally, it hangs on loading uhci-hcd and ohci-hcd (I noload them and it moves on) but then it hangs on Attempting to mount CD:- /dev/hda
Ideas?
Thanks much. |

I had a similar problem on an amd system that I installed onto a few weeks ago. The problem was that the kernel wasn't configured properly for the motherboard. I think if you focus your attention on the motherboard that you'll find a solution.
I'd make sure that in the kernel configuration (particularly in the section 'devices->ata/atapi/mfm/rll') all of the needed motherboard options were turned on. |
