I have a Radeon 9250 card (Sapphire made) in my gentoo box. The system works fine for monitor out but when I plug in the s-video it becomes garbled. This occurs both when using the supplied s-video to composite video adapter and an s-video cable direct to the TV. The S-video direct to the tv is a standard 4-pin type. The S-video on the card is an 8-pin type. The problems begin with the bios. When the BIOS shows up it is in black and white, and the video itself has no vertical hold. It is stable from left to right but flips up on the screen as if the v-hold is off. This problem persists after the bios has handed control over to the bootloader and from that to the console. Attempts to use both the VesaFB and the Radeon Framebuffer produce the same results. _________________ Linux, the OS for the obsessive-compulsive speed freak in all of us. |
