I would really like to play music from a Linux computer to a Windows computer's speakers; something like NAS without Cygwin. How would you do this?

You can either make your Linux disk available to windows across your LAN using SAMBA or use a streaming server on the Linux box like Jinzora or MPD streaming to whatever client on your windows box.

Nevermind that; is there a way to set up a custom port in Jinzora?

You can find the ebuild for Jinzora here:

http://overlays.gentoo.org/proj/webapps/browser/experimental/www-apps/jinzora?rev=184

About the custom TCP port... don't know actually...

Probably depends on how you set-up your webserver as it is web based?

Maybe it is on their site over here:

I had no trouble setting it up with a custom port, as far as the access panel goes, but I can't seem to stream it over a custom port to WinAmp: it gets a 404 error when using IP:Port notation.

I'm *almost 100%* certain it uses whatever port that MPD and Icecast (in my case) are set up for. I *am* using a custom port, which is set in both my MPD and Icecast configure files (I'm not using ices - just straight from MPD to Icecast, which the SVN build for MPD can handle).

Naturally, the web interface uses whatever port Apache (or whatever) is on, which is also a custom port in my case. All works fine.
