Mythtv 0.20 upgrade .. no menu fonts anymore

I have just upgraded to both xorg-x11 (ver 7.0) and mythtv(ver 0.20). After the upgrade X starts up and works ok, and ran the old version (0.19) of mythtv ok, but when I upgraded mythtv to 0.20, I no longer had any fonts on the menu. TV works ok .... just can't see where everything is.

I wonder if it the theme I had selected .. it was not one of the default themes. How do I change to the default theme
without running mythtv or mythtv-setup.

Any help appreciated.
