Hi,
i'm setting up a working environment for disabled person.
He can use a joystick (but not keyboard), so i have to enable joystick under Xorg but not as a core pointer (mouse that moves around the screen) but to have the same effects like pressing left, right, up, down and enter keyboard keys.
So if he presses any button on the joystick it's the same as he would press enter button on keyboard.
If he pushes joystick forward it's like he would press UP key on keyboard..
..
.
I think you get the point.
So is there any way to make Xorg work with USB joystick this way (like arrows on the keyboard+enter)?
(
BTW joystick was detected OK by kernel :
Oct 11 00:56:44 ISG kernel: usb 3-2: new low speed USB device using uhci_hcd and address 11
Oct 11 00:56:44 ISG kernel: usb 3-2: configuration #1 chosen from 1 choice
Oct 11 00:56:44 ISG kernel: input: Padix Co. Ltd. USB, 3-axis, 4-button joystick as /class/input/input10
Oct 11 00:56:44 ISG kernel: input: USB HID v1.00 Joystick [Padix Co. Ltd. USB, 3-axis, 4-button joystick] on usb-0000:00:10.1-2
)
Another way it would be if the author of the application that runs on Xorg would implement joystick usage like this, but i guess this will probably never happen.
Hope together we can help this disabled person. |
