Flash player audio lags during playback

When I'm using flash with mozilla-firefox, I notice that the audio lags and skips sometimes when I do task switching or try to start a new program. Specifically, I'm trying to play music through pandora.com. I like to have that running when I'm working on other things. When I task switch, it skips.

I'd like to get the skipping to stop. I can't figure out any reason why its doing that.

I originally tried the emerge package 'netscape-flash' and then unemerged that in favor of the proprietary version (ver. 7) from the Adobe website. No noticable difference. On my windows partition (same machine), I don't have this problem. I also don't have this problem streaming audio through my mp3 player. So I'm about 99% sure it's a flash issue.

Other information that may be important:
I have a 1.4 cable modem connection
CPU: 1.8ghz Pentium Core Solo processor
1GIG RAM
5400 rpm hard drive averaging 32MB/sec (it's a laptop)

I can provide any other info that you may think is necessary.

That's a well known problem. Unfortunally we have to wait for the next version of flash from adobe... read here for more information:

Ah. Couldn't find anything on the forums here. So I guess I wait for next revision?

Meanwhile...is there anything I can do to improve my audio quality? Does it work better in other browsers (opera?)? Is an older version of flash likely to perform better?

I really only want it for pandora.com
