PostPosted: Sun Oct 01, 2006 1:39 pm    Post subject: suddenly broken sound [SOLVED]-kinda Reply with quote

hi,

after recent updates including baselayout my sound is suddenly broken - I've tried many things from recompiling kernel/modules, to re-merging alsa-utils, tools, drivers - but nothing solved the problem.

here's what i get when run speaker-test in console (no X)

Code:

OK, after playing too much with kernel drivers I got fed up and gave a try to alsa-drivers in user space. This has solved issue and sound works again.

same here

after playing around with a lot of kernel options and emerging my kernel a few times, i've tried emerging alsa-driver and it worked.

at least for some time. i don't even know what i've done, but my sound isn't working anymore.
it actually works, but no sound in KDE, amarok and other media players crash when started and so on.
