Looking for a text editor.

I've been using Beaver but it's been ticking me off lately. Can someone suggest another light, tabbed text editor?

Geany is fast - uses GTK2.

Kate is too much for a simple text editor. It's also too cluttered.

I think I'm going to have to go with gedit. I like the look and feel of Kedit, but it doesn't seem to have tabs =(
