I don't know if anybody else has this problem, but with Beryl and Aiglx, xscreensaver becomes nearly worthless (visually). Even the non-gl screensavers have lines across them and blink.
Is there anyway I can tell beryl not to mess with this one application? Because it looks like its trying to render an already rendered window... or something. The end result is that when I come back from idle, I have to restart beryl.
Something's fishy, and I'd just generally like to avoid the whole thing by keeping the two as seperate as possible.
Any ideas? |

Well for me, beryl locks up, both X and my keyboard if the screensaver is run.
I've tried both opengl and non-gl screensavers, same problem.

Only work around is to ssh into my box and killall beryl from another machine. |

Well XGL != AIGLX. But really, nvidia isn't AIGLX either, it's TFP. But in any event, totally different setups for AIGLX/TFP vs XGL.
AIGLX is direct rendering to apps, indirect to WM
XGL is direct render to WM, and indirect to apps.
AIGLX > XGL (IMHO) |
