How about release 2006.1 for x86 (i686) and use -march=pentium-m in your CFLAGS?
pentium-m
Low power version of Intel Pentium3 CPU with MMX, SSE and SSE2 instruction set support. Used by Centrino notebooks. |

Ok, but which one of these it that? -> ppc ppc (g3) ppc (g4) ppc (64 bit - 32bit userland) ppc (64 bit - 64bit userland)
The things you write seems kind of advance... Is all that well documented in the manual?
Sorry if my questions are stupid but i'm brand new to Gentoo. |

Erm, your processor is pc not ppc. You need to choose x86:

Assuming that you addressed your problem about which handbook to follow, I think that wikipedia is a good source to get started about these kind of questions: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/PowerPC |
