I'm using KDE 3.5.2, and want to use opera (9.02) as my default browser. Also, when I click on a link , I want it to open in a new tab in opera.
So in Control Center > KDE Components > Component Chooser > Web Browser, I have "Open http in the following browser: " /usr/bin/opera -newpage %u. However, when I click on a link ,it opens the page in two tabs in opera. Anyone know how to fix this?

I was testing with thunderbird, and it did not pick up any change I made to that setting.
Maybe I set thunderbird myself (I don't recall setting it), but it has a setting
"network.protocol-handler.app.http", with status of "user set".

What app are you testing with - maybe it picked up that value when it was installed and isn't refreshing?

It's not app specific; this happens with links in Kopete and Akgregator.

I just set it to
/usr/bin/opera -newpage
and it seems to work in Akgregator (opens a single, new tab).
Using opera 9.02 and KDE 3.5.2

Ah, that did it. The %u was messing it up! Thanks.
