[RISOLTO] Installazione java su amd64 - problemi

--ho cambiato il titolo al post ora e' piu chiaro-

Lo so che e' un argomento gia trattato a ritrattato ! ma non so piu' cosa fare ho provato di tutto !
sto finendo di installare ilmio nuovo pc un amd64 tutto bene fin'ora... per installare java ho seguito questa guida come fatto in passato

ho dato questo emerge

code :

USE="nsplugin mozilla" emerge sun-jdk

poi ho seguito le istruzioni su dove scaricare il pacchetto e la licenza .

tutto e' andato a buon fine , poi pero un errore ...

* You have no system nsplugin set, setting it to sun-jdk-1.5.
!!! Error: Usage: set [32bit or 64bit] [nsplugin-vm]
exiting.
* You can change nsplugin with eselect java-nsplugin.

ma niente .

ho ricompilato firefox con le use nsplugin e mozilla ma niente

ho provato anche firefox-bin niente

poi anche blackdown-jdk niente

come dicevo ho pasticciato !

ora ho fatto un emerge -C di tutti i pacchetti java installati anche se nonserviva giusto per avere chiarezza.

ho seguito nuovamente la guida ma da lo stesso errore . al momento ho questo pacchetto java installato

java-config --list-available-vms

The following VMs are available for generation-2:
*) Sun JDK 1.5.0.08 [sun-jdk-1.5]

come ne esco ?

Intanto forse dovresi installare anche java1.4 per ragioni di compatibilità (non mi chiedere altro perché non uso java).
Potrebbe essere un problema di incompatibilità con la tua architettura?

ho fatto come hai detto provando la versione 1.4 , qualche passo in avanti lo attenuto anche danto un'occhiuata qui

ora questi sono i pacchetti che ho

java-config --list-available-vms

*) Sun JDK 1.4.2.12 [sun-jdk-1.4]
2) Sun JDK 1.5.0.08 [sun-jdk-1.5]

dando il seguente comando ottengo

code :

eselect java-nsplugin list

Available 32-bit Java browser plugins
Available 64-bit Java browser plugins
[1] sun-jdk-1.4 current

ho settato :

code :

eselect java-nsplugin set 32bit sun-jdk-1.4

poi anche

code :

eselect java-nsplugin set 64bit sun-jdk-1.4

ma ancora niente ! Ho notato pero' che dopo dando :

code :

env-update && /etc/profile

>>> Regenerating /etc/ld.so.cache...
bash: /etc/profile: Permission denied

probabilmete il problema non e' java !

pero' il problema di java persiste !
