EDIT: or can I have a hard drive with a partition on it as large as i like? | From Design and Implementation of the Second Extended Filesystem 4 terabytes. So as (I haven't read the newpapers today) nobody has a 5 terabyte hard drive for sale, the answer is "Yes". _________________ The avatar is jorma, a "duck" from "Elephants Dream": the film and all the production materials have been made available under a Creative Commons Attribution 2.5 License, see orange.blender.org for details. |

Ever heard of raid?
On single disk, yes - as of today you don't have to worry about partition size limit.
According to wikipedia ntfs has currently 256TB limit on partition size and for reiserfs its 16TB. |
