firefox and mplayerplug-in: 100% CPU playing radio streams

Since I have updated mplayerplug-in from version 3.21 to version 3.31-r1, firefox is using almost 100% CPU when playing radio streams (such like mms://*). Apart from downgrading mplayerplug-in, can CPU usage be reduced again?

OK, I downgraded to 3.21 and can listen to radio again without experiencing excessive CPU utilization by firefox and/or mplayerplug-in. We are near 0% now Not really a solution, but helps for the time being.
