Gentoo Install / Imaging Problem

This is for a cluster computing project.
I need to create an image server that will store the OS image for the compute nodes as well as the head node in the cluster. Has ayone ever used System Imager with gentoo? Is there a better way?

I am just looking for ideas at the moment. Thanks!
