hallo @all,
ich habe nach nach dem upgrade meiner hardware auf 64bit nun eine neue graka und mußte in diesem zug auch die neuen nvidia-legacy-drivers gebaut.
wenn der rechner in der console hochfährt, funzt der tvout noch wunderbar, sobald dann allerdings X geladen wird, versagt der tvout seinen dienst.
ich habe nun schon diverse wikis und forenbeiträge getestet, bin aber noch zu keiner lösugn gelangt.
wäre super wenn mir jemand unter die arme greifen könnte.

und hier noch eine fehlermeldung beim starten von nvidia-settings (evtl is das nen hinweis? es läßt sich nix einstellen in den settigs, keine auswahl):

wiso die legacy treiber die sind doch nur für karten die älter sind als ne geforce3 sind, da der "normale" treiber den support dafür nicht mehr hat. Aber du hast ne geforce 6 und dafür kannst du auch die nvidia-drivers benutzen.
Bei mir funktioniert nvidia-settings mit ner geforce4go ohne problem.
Hier die installierten versionen von nvidia-drivers und nvidia-settings:

hatte vorher die nvidia.drivers drauf, aber als ich die nvidia-settings upgedated hab, wurden diese geblocked, weil der zwanghaft die nvidia-legacy-driver insten will.
hab nun nen downgrade druchgeführt und wieder folgendes drauf:

niemand da der eine idee hat?
weil ist schon sehr merkwürdig das die console problemlos den tvout nutzt,
nur X halt nicht mit klarkommt |

Sorry, aber es ist schwierig einen Tipp zu geben wenn du nur so wenig Infos rausgibst.
Also erstmal ist es leider überhaupt nicht merkwürdig, dass der TvOut auf der konsole klappt aber unter X nicht. Auf der konsole funktioniert der TvOut meistens "einfach so", vermutlich weil er die Grafikkarte über ein Standard-Primitiv-Protokoll anspricht. nvidia Karten geben zumindest das Bild der konsole immer auf allen angeschlossenen Monitoren, inklusive Tv-Geräten aus. Unter X läuft dann der nvidia-Treiber und die Sache wird um einiges komplexer.
Außerdem funktioniert unter X leider fast nie etwas "einfach so", drum muss man da oft etwas nachhelfen.
Als erstes wäre es nützlich wenn du beschreiben könntest was _genau_ denn eigentlich nicht funktioniert. Zeigt der Fernseher nur ein schwarzes Bild? Oder nur Streifen? Oder kriegt er gar kein Signal? Oder bricht der X-Server ab?
Und noch wichtiger: Poste deine /var/log/Xorg.0.log hier, dort finden sich mit sicherheit Hinweise. Der nvidia-Treiber ist glücklicherweise ziemlich gesprächig!
Außerdem hast du glaub ein paar Logikfehler in deiner Xorg.conf, ich schau mir das gleich mal genauer an! |

Ok, hier mal eine überarbeitete xorg.conf. Kannst sie ja testweise mal ausprobieren. Stell aber sicher, dass die BusID, die du da eingetragen hast auch wirklich stimmt! (Außerdem geb ich natürlich keine Garantie, dass es mit dieser config läuft. Sehr wahrscheinlich wird es das nicht, aber du hattest in deiner anderen config ein paar seltsame Sachen drin).

besten dank soweit, für die ausführlich hilfe Vortex375
so, hab mal deine config getestet, startet erstmal, aber dann geht kein interface mehr, kein vga, dvi und auch kein tvout.
schau ich mir aber nochmal an.

das es mit der console funzt, war nur die idee, das es heißt das der tvout erstmal ganz ist
wenn ich nun mit meiner config starte, scheint X ein bild zum TV schicken zu wollen, aber dann kommt nix, bleibt nur ein lila querstreifen übrig.
mit dieser config, nur ein klein wenig andres, hatte ich früher meine GeForce5500 laufen, und da ging der tvout.
welche daten brauchst du noch um mehr einblick zu bekommen? |

Naja, also die Log sieht soweit ganz gut aus, bis auf die Paar Warnungen die deine doch etwas komischen Identifiers in der xorg.conf verursachen (so wie (WW) NVIDIA: More than one matching Device section found: GeForce 6200).
Kannst du evtl. auch noch die Log posten, die erstellt wird, wenn du mit meiner überarbeiteten Config startest?
Ich kenn mich leider mit den neueren nvidia-Karten nicht so gut aus. Anscheinend unterstützt laut dieser Ausgabe der Tv die gleichen Auflösungen wie der Monitor:

Ob das richtig erkannt wurde weiß ich nicht. Auf älteren Karten unterstützt der Tv-Encoder aber nur max. 800x600 und kein 1024x768.
Du kannst ja mal versuchen unter X mit Strg+Alt+KP_Plus (also das + auf dem Ziffernblock) die Auflösungen durchzuschalten und jeweils zu überprüfen ob dann ein Bild auf dem Fernseher erscheint.
Bei deiner xorg.conf geht es außerdem etwas drunter und drüber. Du definierst nämlich zum einen zwei Device und zwei Screen Sections und stellst in der ServerLayout Section auch zwei unabhängige Screens ein, aktivierst dann aber TwinView.
Wenn du TwinView verwendest, dann brauchst du nur _einen_ Screen in der xorg.conf definieren. Der Treiber übernimmt dann die Verteilung auf zwei Monitore. Umgekehrt, wenn du in der xorg.conf zwei unabhängige Screens definierst, dann solltest du TwinView abschalten.
Lies am besten nochmal in der nvidia-Dokumentation, auf http://download.nvidia.com/XFree86/Linux-x86/1.0-8774/README/index.html nach.
Interessant für dich sollten "Appendix P. Configuring Multiple X Screens on One Card" und/oder "Appendix G. Configuring TwinView" sein. Lies dir das am besten mal durch, wenn du das nicht schon getan hast und überarbeite dann mal deine xorg.conf nach diesen Vorschlägen.
Achja noch was: versuch evtl. auch mal die Option "TvStandard" auf einen anderen Wert zu setzen (also ein anderes PAL-*), nur versuchsweise.
