Wireless Laptop and Proxies

Has anyone solved the problem of differing proxy configurations as a laptop moves from one network to another?

It is always a hassle to have to change things like the Firefox proxy settings as I move between work and home.

Is it possible to set up a dummy ethernet device which switches settings as between networks?


What solutions have people come up with?
