I have removed the ebuild and did emerge --sync but the error persisted.

Wow that was fast. Thank you for reporting it, I thought I'd report it myself but I better ask in forums first  So is it fixed? May I emerge --sync?

| Wait half an hour, then run emerge --sync (It takes up to 40 minutes for the changes to propagate from CVS to the rsync servers). |
