|
|
I have enabled radeonfb support in the kernel and added the following line to grub.conf Code: | kernel /boot/kernel-2.6.17-gentoo-r8 root=/dev/sda3 video=radeonfb |
Absolutely nothing happens during bootup.
Code: | dmesg | grep radeon | gives:
Code: | Kernel command line: root=/dev/sda3 video=radeonfb |
I saw this forum entry: (post by snorri_dj)
https://forums.gentoo.org/viewtopic-t-332537-highlight-radeonfb.html
Update:
Code: | dmesg | grep vesafb
vesafb: , , (OEM: ATI ATOMBIOS)
vesafb: VBE version: 3.0
vesafb: protected mode interface info at c000:ab90
vesafb: pmi: set display start = c00cac1e, set palette = c00cac5e
vesafb: VBIOS/hardware supports DDC2 transfers
vesafb: monitor limits: vf = 63 Hz, hf = 65 kHz, clk = 110 MHz
vesafb: scrolling: redraw
vesafb: framebuffer at 0xd8000000, mapped to 0xf8880000, using 16384k, total 16384k |
It seems like the radeonfb isn't even getting loaded. Although, it is in the kernel (as far as I can tell)
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,

No matter what I do, I can't get the radeonfb to take. dmesg simply gives the vesafb messages (above).
Is there something else I need to do to get this to work? Something that I might be missing?
thanks,
