Hello!

I've got one weird problem here.

Whenever I start Kgpg the first time, it comes up with the wizard and everything's fine. However, after closing it I cannot open it via the normal shortcut in the K menu (which is kgpg %U) or on the commandline with kgpg. I do not even get errors on the command line, it just returns to the prompt and kgpg remains a sleeping process in ps aux.

I can however start every single part of kgpg with e.g. kgpg -k or kgpg -e <filename>.

But I miss that "drop onto the systray icon" feature.

Tried reemerging, deleting my ~/.gnupg, deleting /usr/kde/3.5/share/config.kcfg/kgpg.kcfg, deleting ~/.kde3.5/share/config/kgpgrc, it happens every time.
When changing ~/.kde3.5/share/config/kgpgrc to
Code:
First run=true
, I can start it normally, getting the wizard.
Kgpg also does not honor the settings I set via its setting dialog (e.g. Misc-Applet&Menus-Event on unencrypted file drop: Ask, which is also in my ~/.kde3.5/share/config/kgpgrc); if I drop a file onto the icon it says: "Decryption failed" (though it should ask what to do with the file)

This is Kgpg-3.5.2 on KDE-3.5.2, gnupg-1.9.20-r3

Any ideas?

TiA!

Solved!

The icon was just the shortcut. I now activated the systray in my kicker. Using KGPG's icon there works as it should.

That was pretty dumb of me.
