Hi,
I've got a pc running gentoo with a bcm43xx based network card. Now recently, I started getting problems with the pc. Everything works fine, but after a while the pc isn't responding anymore. I need to hard reset it and it works again for a while.
This is what I see in the logs :
Oct 10 21:05:45 frontend bcm43xx: Controller RESET (TX timeout) ...
Oct 10 21:05:45 frontend bcm43xx: Controller restarted
uname -a :
Linux frontend 2.6.18-gentoo #2 Sun Oct 8 18:24:10 CEST 2006 i686 AMD Athlon(tm) XP 2500+ AuthenticAMD GNU/Linux
I tried 2.6.19-rc2, but the result is the same.
I don't recall any hangs when running 2.6.17. Is this kernel related? |

might be so...
I use 2.6.17-r8 and have no problem...
---------------
just to be sure if it is the wireless,
disable all modules with rmmod and then run your computer for a few hours... |

Okay,
The pc isn't hanging anymore, but the card still loses connection.
dmesg shows this :

so apparently the wireless connection gets restored but the ip is lost. I'll switch to fixed IP and see what it gives. |

yes,
Everything is loaded perfectly and it works for some time, and all of a sudden the controller resets... |
