I build a software raid 5 out of 3x750gig hdds and I copied all my files over to it. Now I am trying to sort these files and move them all around and what not. I was using konqueror just because it was a bit easier to drag and drop files, but if I were to ever move a folder with alot of files in it the copy would hang. It would make everything using the raid hang ie xmms, mplayer, azureus, etc... The raid is fine for just normal use like downloading files to it and playing videos/music off of it but once I start copying files around things start to go crazy and konqueror freezes and I get no access to the raid unless I restart my computer.

At first I thought it was konqueror so then I tried moving my files around using the command line with mv and cp. I got the same problems when moving my files around also.

I also noticed that sometimes some of my files randomly disapear and then reapear later. Kinda strange...

Any ideas how I can fix this?? Need more info?
