On the advice of the install instructions, I chose metalog. When my new system boots up, I can see several lines of what look like IRQ conflict errors go by, but too fast to read. When I go to look at the logs, I find metalog has created a collection of files, like:

/var/log/everything/current

But there's not much of anything in it or any of the others. What gives? Isn't there a boot log somewhere I can use to troubleshoot these errors?

I tried kill -s SIGUSR1 <ps# for metalog> to turn off the buffering, but it doesn't seem to flush the buffers the way I would have supposed.

Thanks,
-Jeff

Those messages are generated before metalog is started. Try:
Code:
dmesg | less
