|
|
I recently changed my kernel when the new gentoo-sources (2.6.18-r1) hit ~amd64.
Now whenever I try to boot using that kernel the PC just hangs at "Activating mdev"
Unfortunately my copies of the old kernel and .config files were deleted so I cant use them.
At first I thought it must be a issue with the .config so I created a kernel using the default .config from genkernel, the problem persisted.
Next I tried downgrading sources and attempting to recreate my kernel as it was before (from memory), no help.
This leads me to believe the contents of the initrd must be the problem but this doesnt explain why my recently created xen kernel works (almost) perfectly. |
