Hi, All...

Wondering if any fluxbox users have had a problem with the file manager app-misc/gentoo? Upon recommendation of the Gentoo fluxbox HOWTO, I emerged this application to attempt to use it. Unfortunately, when it opens, it's vertical size exceeds the vertical size of my monitor screen, and I can't access parts of it.

Has anyone else experienced this?

Any suggestions for a fix?

Thanks!

Alt+drag the window and resize it.

But honestly gentoo is pretty crappy. You're not missing much if it's the only thing that doesn't work.

Would you mind recommending another alternative I should consider?

Thanks!

I personally love rox. I run blackbox and use rox as my filemanager.

Krusader is the best file manager for linux in my opinion
It has a TON of dependencies and isn't as fast as ROX but you can do whatever you want with it...

A shell is better than a file manager. I use bash and associated CLI utilities 99% of the time.

For those rare times when I want a file manger, I use mc or Konqueror. Konqueror is big, but very powerful, and anything less just doesn't offer a compelling advantage over a shell.
