Hello,
I would like to merge two xfs-filesystems into one. As far as I can see, unionFS is not supported by the kernel directly, and sys-fs/unionfs is marked unstable. Now I'm a bit worried about crashing my filesystems. Have there been any severe problems?
Thanks |

Not here, no.
'Unstable' in the context of gentoo portage does not mean (necessarily) that the program will behave badly. Instead it means, that its interface, API or portage integration/dependencies are expected to change.

I've experimented with unionfs, and haven't had any problems kernel-wise. I used it to mount compressed filesystems as read-only "underlays" for the purpose of conserving disk space. The output of df can get quite confusing when you have too many things mounted on top of each other ![Very Happy :D](images/smiles/icon_biggrin.gif) _________________ Petition for Better 64-bit ATI Drivers - Sign Here
