I have been getting myself a webcam that I have gotten to work just fine with my Gentoo box here, I am able to play the cam in gqcam and camstream and ftp images up to my a webserver now and then, that works just fine.

Now as the topic says I am behind a router, running NAT with very few (if any) ports open to here, and I would really like to stream this camera to a friend of mine who uses a windoze box.
I have been looking a bit around, but all the programs in portage (+ Palantir which appearently isn't in portage) is diffrent kinds of server software that would be able to do this, which I don't think I would be able to get working from behing this blasted router (I don't have access to it).

Anyone here that has any suggestions what software I should be using here or a way to work my way around the router problem.

Use camserv to stream your webcam stream and point to a specified port. Good luck!

Any idea what software my friend might be using on a windoze machine to recive such a stream if I do suceed in getting it sent?

Another thing, I am not the big network expert here, is there some way to do a scan of which ports are open for me to use?

your friend only needs a browser. I believe IE doesn't work with the stream camserv produces but Firefox works just fine. About the portscan you could use some online scanner :) . Good luck!

Thanks for your reply zwik.
Sadly it seems that from what I have been able to figure from the portscans I have just done I have no ports open to me what so ever ... I guess the folks I am renting this appartment from must have reset the router, exchanged it or something like that, because I seem to remember I once had a few ports open to here.
Is there any ways to do this from behind a router without any ports open?

Or even better do anyone know how to crack you way into a Linksys BEFSR81v3, when you don't know the password and is has been changed from the standard one
