Someone please help me figure out what I have done wrong or forgotten..
I get....
~ $ compiz-nvidia
compiz: No RandR extension

So... aside from my xorg.conf that I posted that had ..
#Option "AIGLX" "on"
and
#Option "AIGLX" "true"
uncommented.... what else could it be?
I only uncommented those in one of my previous attempts to get it working.
They both are commented out and I still get the same problem.
I have followed the gentoo wiki and the gentoo-effects wiki which arent any different really.
I still get ...
~ $ compiz-nvidia
compiz: No RandR extension
~ $ The program 'gtk-window-decorator' received an X Window System error.
This probably reflects a bug in the program.
The error was 'RenderBadPicture (invalid Picture parameter)'.
(Details: serial 589 error_code 190 request_code 157 minor_code
(Note to programmers: normally, X errors are reported asynchronously;
that is, you will receive the error a while after causing it.
To debug your program, run it with the --sync command line
option to change this behavior. You can then get a meaningful
backtrace from your debugger if you break on the gdk_x_error() function.) |

Thanks, Ill try it..
I just added xcomposite and aiglx to my global USE flags and its recompiling xorg-server metacity kdebase and kdelibs right now.. I'll let ya know how it turns out in a while. |

It works fine on my home box but not this one, The only difference i can see is that Im using 2 monitors here.

well I have found that if I remove xinerama from serverflags compiz>k-window-decorator work
so... Does anyone know If there is a way to make xinerama and compiz co-exist? |

from what I have found, as of this date ... xorgs xinreama extension doesnt work with compiz ... I did find this patch but couldnt use it. http://lists.freedesktop.org/archives/compiz/2006-May/000173.html At this time nvidia's version of xinerama=Twinview does work with aiglx so using the twinview instead of xinerama works fine.... The only real down side of this that I have found so far is centering is done between the 2 monitors and not on one (right or left) and when you maximize a window it maximizes across both screens and not one (right or left).
maybe that will be fixed soon.
