My motherboard has a VIA Rhine built in NIC. It quit working so I had to install a Netgear NIC card. Now I am trying to install from 2006.1 minimal CD and it keeps wanting to configure the VIA as eth0. How do I get it to configure the Netgear NIC as eth0 instead of eth1? Alternatvely, how do I get the system to use eth1 instead of eth0? I might add that I installed Gentoo 2006.0 on this machine earlier without this problem, but I wiped that out when I had other problems. |

I switched mine off in the BIOS before installing. |
